I’m excited to announce our recruitment process for 2020-2021 GLACUHO Leadership Team positions is now open! The full GLACUHO Leadership Team consists of both elected and appointed officers.

Elected officers comprise the Board of Directors and are elected by the membership through an online voting process which will occur May 1-31. Elected officers serve 2-3 year terms, depending on the position. The following elected positions are accepting nominations and applications:

  • President-Elect (3 year term)

  • Treasurer (3 year term)

  • Indiana Delegate (2 year term)

  • Ohio Delegate (2 year term)

  • Committee Chair Delegate (2 year term)

Ex-officio officers are appointed by the President with support of the Board of Directors in June; appointed positions include committee chairs, the technology coordinator, and the exhibitor liaison. Appointed positions typically serve 1-2 year terms and do not vote on the association's business. The following appointed positions are accepting nominations and applications:

  • Professional Foundations Chair (2 year term)

  • Inclusion and Equity Chair (2 year term)

  • Student Learning Chair (2 year term)

  • Contemporary Issues Chair (1 year term)

  • Programming and Development Assistant Chair (2 year term; serves as assistant chair for 2020-2021, becomes chair for second year in 2021-2022.)

  • Conference Host Assistant Chair (2 year term; serves as assistant chair for 2020-2021, becomes chair for second year in 2021-2022.)

All new incoming members of the Leadership Team go through an online onboarding and orientation process during summer and early fall, and will officially begin their terms at the close of the 2020 Annual Conference in Springfield, Illinois.

Leadership recruitment will follow this timeline:

  • February 3: Nominations for GLACUHO leadership positions open

  • March 27: Nominations close (members do not need to be nominated in order to apply)

  • April 17: Applications for GLACUHO Leadership positions are due (deadline extended)

  • May 1-31: GLACUHO member institutions vote online for the elected positions

  • June: Ex-Officio Officers are appointed at the June board meeting

  • July-November: Incoming GLACUHO Leadership Team training and onboarding

  • November 10: Incoming GLACUHO Leadership Team terms begin

All institutions present at the 2019 Annual Conference business meeting in East Lansing are eligible to vote during the elections process. Candidate information, including headshot photos and candidate statements, will be posted on the GLACUHO website in April to allow all members to review the slate and caucus with institutional colleagues. Then, the designated voting delegate will cast the institution’s vote. Please click here to see a list of eligible voting institutions and currently registered voting delegates. If your voting delegate has changed, please contact me via email.

I look forward to many nominations of professionals within the region and hope you take a few minutes to nominate someone today. (Please note, you do not need to be nominated to apply for any leadership position.) To learn more visit our GLACUHO Leadership Recruitment page.
