Campus Safety and Crisis Management Committee Chair

I am excited to announce that Michelle Cecil (she, her, hers) has been appointed to the Campus Safety and Crisis Management Chair position effective immediately to serve the remainder of the current term which runs through October 2019.

Michelle currently serves as a Residential Life Coordinator at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, OH. She earned her Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree from Oakland University in Michigan and her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication with emphasis in Rhetoric/ Public Advocacy and Organizational Communication from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Michelle's GLACUHO involvement has included attending conferences in 2016 and 2017 where at the 2017 conference she presented a session titled, "Dialoguing Professional DisAbility", which won a top 10 program award. She previously served on the Professional Foundations committee and is a current member of the Campus Safety and Crisis Management Committee.

She lives on campus at OWU with her fiance and her cat Ruth Bader Ginspurr and is very excited to be serving GLACUHO as the new Campus Safety and Crisis Management Committee Chair.

Please join me in welcoming Brian Kelley, who has been appointed to the treasurer position to serve the remainder of the current term which runs through October 2020. Brian currently serves as Director of Residence Life at University of Illinois at Springfield.

Brian first became involved with GLACUHO in 2007 and served as a member of the Sexual Orientation Awareness and Resources Committee and presented at the annual conference on behalf of the committee. Working with other committees, he was involved in establishing a Multicultural Competencies Institute in GLACUHO before being appointed to chair of the committee. He has also served as a past chair of the Programming and Development Committee, participated in PDI, and most recently served on the new Conference Host Committee. Brian recently returned to the GLACUHO region after several years in UMR-ACUHO.

Brian will be working closely with Shandee during the next few months to transition into the position. Shandee will remain the official treasurer of record until a date (still to be determined) later this summer when the official transition occurs, likely in late July or early August.
