· Work with the conference team to find a location for breakfast (ex: maybe utilize the free continental breakfast at a conference hotel and then only need to reserve a room)

· If applicable, see if anyone coming from the exhibitor fair may qualify to be the feature speaker. If that’s the case, then try to schedule the breakfast on the same day as the exhibitor fair to perhaps lessen need for overnight accommodations.

We are also open to other suggestions that we may not have considered in order to lessen the cost of the event.

The GLACUHO board could be considered a stakeholder through financial support. The intended participants are SHOs as we want to add value to their conference experience.

Technology Advisory Board (TAB) Proposal

The GLACUHO Board of Directors created a proposal process that, in part, allows for more transparency and input into the operations of the association. This proposal is the first in which the full process will be implemented. This includes a chance for GLACUHO members to receive a preview of the proposal, ask questions, and provide input.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

At the February Business Meeting (held during the Winter Meeting on February 13 and 14, 2016), the GLACUHO Board of Directors will be reviewing a proposal to create a Technology Advisory Board. The executive summary is listed below. This proposal was submitted by the Technology Coordinator and Treasurer. Please use this discussion thread to post any questions or comments, or work with your state delegate to provide input.

Over the past five years GLACUHO’s has drastically increased the use of technology, including the website, membership database, and communication tools, allowing the association to continue working year-round to connect members and provide resources. These technology enhancements have shifted from being supplemental to how we conduct business to being the primary tools and critical aspects of how we conduct business today. Major improvements in the availability of technology offerings have resulted in improvement in how we communicate with our members, how we collect and manage information, and how we plan, organize, and execute initiatives for our members. Along with these improvements have also come an increase in expenses dedicated to technology resources.

With the association providing between 15-20% of annual expenses to technology subscriptions (website, meeting/webinar software, payment processing, online survey software, etc.), a large burden is placed upon the Technology Coordinator in making decisions and providing direction in these areas. As the technology area of GLACUHO has grown and expanded, the scope of responsibility covered by the Technology Coordinator position has become an area where additional guidance, support, and advisement could be utilized.

This proposal focuses on establishing a Technology Advisory Board with the purpose of providing the Technology Coordinator, and GLACUHO, with support in the area of current and future technology resources. The structure of this advisory board is modeled after current practices for other positions in the association.
