You and your campuses should plan on another year of campus protests and student dissent. The Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) 2015 Freshman survey found students indicated greater likelihood of participating in student protests and demonstrations. Our students are increasingly diverse and are dissenting on topics frequently related to privilege and social identities. Given our current national landscape, how can we as educators navigate the foundations of a campus community and the inherent tensions that exist, recognize unique institutional considerations in supporting and responding to students, and implement strategies as leaders to both build capacity and also support each other in this work.
