STARS College is a three-day experience for undergraduates interested in learning more about Student Affairs and the Housing profession, occurring right before the summer Association of College & University Housing Officers-International Annual Convention & Exhibition. Blending large group presentations, interactive activities, roleplay situations, self-evaluation, and small mentoring groups, STARS presents the world of Housing to those interested in the field. Each participant will be asked to have an "on-campus mentor," who will play a vital role in continued mentoring and exposure to the field after STARS.
STARS College will accommodate up to 40 current sophomores and juniors who are interested in pursuing a career in housing. Participants must have at least one full year of undergraduate college left after August of the current year, and must have demonstrated significant interest in Housing / Residential Life / Student Affairs through their involvement and / or work experience during their time as an undergrad.
The STARS College registration fee includes: 3 nights of double occupancy accommodations, registration materials, and STARS College meal package).
Those selected for STARS College may stay for the ACUHO-I Annual Conference for an additional cost. This fee includes registration and conference meal package, and requires some volunteer hours. It does not include lodging. Applicants must make their own conference hotel reservations. Applicants are encouraged to solicit registration fee assistance from their department, student government, and other possible contributors
