Hobbies and Interests
As my family continues to grow, the opportunities for hobbies are slowly fading away. I do enjoy crafting: anything that I can encourage my daughter to do with me. Also, my partner and I have a 1951 Ford Tudor rat rod named Hard Luck. We spend time cruising in the summer and making large puffs of black smoke.

Favorite TV Show or Movie
Project Runway - Make it work!

Favorite Food
Pico de Gallo and Chips

Favorite Motto/Quote
Hold fast to your dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. - Langston Hughes

What being a member of the GLACUHO organization means to you
As an undergraduate RA at Central Michigan University, the Office of Residence Life offered an opportunity to apply for a paid trip to attend the 1999 GLACUHO conference. Because I was one of only two applications that were turned in on time, I was selected to attend the conference. During this conference, I realized that there was a bigger picture to Residence Life. It allowed me to see that Residence Life could be a career and I had the opportunity to meet an education faculty member from GVSU which prompted my commitment to furthering my education. It was the opportunity that really allowed me to focus on my future career path and motivated me to pursue opportunities in Residence Life. Being involved in GLACUHO allows me to give back to the organization that helped to jumpstart my career. My involvement in the organization allows me to create intentional educational moments to motivate housing officers in our region to learn from ourselves and others, lead in the residence life field, and serve our students to the best of our abilities.

Anything else you would like to share with the GLACUHO membership (i.e. family, children, aspirations, unknown facts about yourself, etc.)
I am the mother of two amazing children, Maya and Freddy. Through their adventures, my partner and I stay young, energized, and amazed.
